Atamos Sumo With a large, bright, color-sensitive 19-inch LCD display and 4K recording capabilities, Atomos Sumo can be applied to enhance professional video workflows in both production and post-production. Its own, HD’s HDR capabilities allow filmmakers to capture more of the dynamic range of a cinema camera when shooting in dailies or raw formats. All built-in monitoring tools are compatible with HDR rendering to accommodate wider dynamic range, and Sumo can record incoming DCI and UHD 4K video in a variety of flavors. Adding Master Pro II or AVID DNxHR to Master Caddy II storage media ProRes Raw / Raw HQ recording with supported cameras is also possible for greater flexibility in post-production.
Among director monitors, Sumo’s HDR capabilities are again useful; allowing editors and colorists to see deeper into the captured image information. The 10-bit image processing, combined with a 10-bit FRC-compliant LCD panel, shows subtle transitions from recording media directly to playback from the recording media or from a connected PC. The display itself can be calibrated to maintain color accuracy for the life of the Sumo.
