Product Features

Sony PXW-FX9 6K Full Frame Professional Camcorder for Rent will feature a newly developed 6K Full Frame sensor and Fast Hybrid Auto Focus (AF) system. Sony’s new flagship FX9 camera will feature Sony’s next-generation sensor chipset with a newly developed full-frame sensor, Fast Hybrid Autofocus system and enhanced mobility features, enabling more advanced AF with face recognition and Eye-AF.

The full-frame 6K sensor of the Sony PXW-FX9 6K Camera for Rent delivers excellent recording at DCI 4K*, Ultra HD and HD resolutions. Powerful image processing with de-monetization and oversampling ensures image quality beyond the limits of conventional Super 35mm sensors. The back-illuminated CMOS image sensor also utilizes Sony Exmor R technology for improved sensitivity and noise reduction. Compared to a 4K Super 35mm sensor, the Rental Sony PXW-FX9’s 6K sensor has more than double the surface area while providing a wider viewing angle and shallower depth of field.

The Sony PXW-FX9 6K Camera for Rent has a base sensitivity of ISO 800, which provides optimal dynamic range for typical documentary applications such as shooting outdoors or brightly lit interiors. A secondary high base sensitivity of ISO 4000 is superior, maintaining superior image quality in low light conditions such as early morning and evening shots. ISO 4000 is also ideal when using a slow lens.

The rental Sony PXW-FX9 6K Camera offers 15+ stops – beyond the range of normal human perception – allowing unprecedented creative freedom in color grading and registration. Camera operators can focus the scene they want in the frame, relying on the FX9 to capture every nuance and detail using 4K 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording or 16-bit RAW external recording. * In grading, colorists can find color and detail beyond the camera operator’s normal imaging capabilities to create a final image that fully conveys the mood of the scene.
